Welcome to the navigation guide for the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA). Whether you are purchasing an apartment in Mumbai, verifying a developer in Pune, validating a broker’s license, or filing an online grievance for delayed possession, this page provides direct official links, statutory fee schedules, and step-by-step instructions.
The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) is the state statutory body governing real estate transactions under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. The state rules were officially notified on March 8, 2017, to enforce transparency, mandate timely project deliveries, and protect homebuyer rights across Maharashtra.
Under Section 3 of the Act, every commercial and residential project in Maharashtra meeting statutory thresholds must be registered with MahaRERA before any advertising, marketing, or booking can occur.
Before executing an agreement to sell, every buyer should audit the property on the official portal.
If a developer delays possession, alters building plans without consent, or fails to deliver promised amenities, buyers can seek legal remedy through the online portal.
Unlike other states, Maharashtra also offers a highly successful Conciliation Forum for amicable dispute resolution before moving to a formal legal hearing.
Under Section 3 of the Act, registration is compulsory if the total land area exceeds 500 square metres OR if the proposed construction contains more than 8 apartments/units (across all phases).
