Government of India has enacted the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016. Under this Act, Government of Telangana notified the Telangana Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Rules 2017 vide G.O.Ms.No.202, Dt.31-07-2017 for regulation and promotion of real estate sector in the State of Telangana and vide G.O. Ms. No. 84 & 85, Dt.12.06.2023 permanent Authority has been established with Dr.N.Satyanarayana, IAS as the Chairperson and Sri J.Laxminarayana and Sri K.Srinivasa Rao as Members of the Authority to manage the affairs under the Act. Further vide G.O.Ms.No.8, Dt.11-01-2018 the Telangana Value Added Tax Appellate Tribunal has been designated as RERA Appellate Tribunal to manage the affairs under the Act till the regular Tribunal is established.
