Government of India has enacted the Real Estate (Regulation and Development)Act, 2016 and all the sections of the Act have come into force with effect fromMay 1, 2017. Government of Himachal Pradesh has established Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) HP for Regulation and promotion of Real Estate Sector in the State of Himachal Pradesh vide notification No. HSG-A(3)-1/2019 dated 16/12/2019 Prior to this the State Govt. Vide Notification No. TCP-A(3)-1/2016, Dated 4 th February, 2017 had nominated the Director, Town and Country Planning as the Designated Officer as required under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. The Himachal Pradesh Real Estate RegulatoryAuthority has started its functioning with effect from January 1, 2020. TheAuthority comprises of Chairperson and two Members.
